Homebound

Homebound captures a boat making its way back across the water, with home somewhere beyond the horizon. There's a quiet feeling that comes with the end of a journey, when the destination is familiar and you know where you're headed. For me, this piece is about that pull toward home. No matter how far we travel or what we encounter along the way, there's something comforting about knowing there's a place we're trying to get back to.

Artwork Details

Homebound is an original oil painting on canvas and is currently available for purchase. While standing on a dock in P.E.I I saw this fishing trawler come back into the bay and was immediately captivated by it. Were they returning to a family? Did they have kids waiting at the dock?

This is one of three works selected for Station Gallery’s RESILIENCE: The Art of Service, Strength, and Renewal exhibition in Whitby, Ontario.
